One thing I always tell my artist, write about your life and you can't go wrong. I find it disappointing that it is so hard to get my music played on radio stations. It's music about a young man telling his mother he has a baby on the way, or should I choose to go to school today or deal drugs to put food on the table. And the decision to choose to go to school. I always thought I could do something different when I ventured into Hip Hop. But today I feel little defeated. I find that I may have to conform. Conform for the Cause. Doing Things Diffently....

Welcome to my blog...My name is Youlanda Burnett I am CEO of Maylay Entertainment. My main focus is to show Hip Hop in a different light. No cussing no women in videos that are half dressed. No degrading of women. I must say stating this venture was not easy I wanted so hard in the beginning to have my music be profanity free but the people that were in my organization at the time did not see it that way. It's hard sometimes to share your vision with people when your constanly being told it can't be done. So after 4 years of trying to push the issue, people leaving and letting you down. I have found the young men that have embraced my vision for Maylay. If you never give up and keep going things will happen.
